CUT. - 01.2020 - MOZART blades partner information

Dear MOZART friends and business partners

An exciting year 2019 is behind us, shaped by diverse, adverse circumstances in the international movement of goods due to trade conflicts and, unfortunately highly topical, due to the restrictions that the Corona Virus brings with it. At the same time, however, we are experiencing an unchanged high demand for our products, which is why we will stick to our strategy of continuously expanding capacity. This has already led to a significant improvement in availability for many product groups; other products will only experience improvements in the course of the year.

We thank you very much for your loyalty, your understanding and your patience and hope you enjoy reading the MOZART CUT 1/2020!

Precision knives in blister packaging: wider range, even more beautiful!

Since spring 2019, Mozart's high-quality precision knives and blades are also available in special packaging for the consumer sector. Thus, in addition to the industrial and commercial segment, Mozart has begun to open up to the small and private customer segment as well with its typically smaller quantities required, e.g. for model making, handicraft and graphic works.

Due to the great success in these new areas, from the beginning of 2020 the range will be expanded to include more knives and blades. In addition to the previous "big" knife with thumbscrew (new coding: P1 T), the big knife with Allen screw and mandrel (for perforation, especially suitable for leather work) (P1 AF) and the "small" knife with thumbscrew (P2 T ) will be available.

The blade assortment has also been supplemented: in addition to the previously offered "short" blade 512.063, there are now also the "pointed" blade 512.053 and the „universal“ blade 512.050 available in the 10-pack dispenser in blister packaging.

In addition to expanding the range, the packaging has been redesigned and now expresses the high-grade quality of Mozart products even more clearly.

Big Bags & Co .: Slitting blades for highest demands

Fabrics made of plastic ribbons for FIBC bulk bags and other applications are manufactured in complex plants where PP films are cut into narrow strips and then woven with special weaving machines.
When processing the PP films, blades are used to cut the extruded material into strips with a width of between 5 and 10 mm. These are stretched in the next step to a width of 1.8 - 5 mm and then woven into fabrics.

During the slitting operation, long service lives of the blades are essential in order to ensure uniformly long machine running times and few replacement intervals. It is also important to have a uniform and clean quality of the cut, in order to achieve a homogeneous structure of the fabric and thus a high strength and a load capacity of the Big Bags of up to 2,000 kg.

Mozart offers a wide range of high-quality slitting blades for this demanding application, especially three-hole and so-called "Gillette" blades, and has been a preferred partner to this industry for decades.

Small series and prototypes - MOZART can do it differently!
MOZART is primarily known in the market as a manufacturer of high-volume blades with high precision. The need for prototypes was difficult to serve in the past, small series were completely beyond our means.

By building a special laser cutting system, we have been able to serve these areas professionally for several years now. Of course, the blades manufactured in this way are at a higher price level, but the steadily increasing demand shows that MOZART has hit a nerve here, especially among developers, machine builders and customers who only need a small number of a special blade.

The process offers the following advantages:
  • Prototypes from 1 piece and in perfect series quality
  • Small series up to 5,000 pieces are possible
  • Fast deployment and supply within a few weeks
  • There are no tool costs
  • Materials in stainless and carbon steel quality
  • Various material thicknesses between 0.10 and 1.00 mm available
  • One-sided and two-sided, straight cutting edges are possible

Exhibition review
An eventful trade show year 2019 with a total of 6 national and international events is behind us. After DOMOTEX, BAU and ICE in the 1st quarter, Techtextil, ITMA and K followed as trade fairs with an industrial focus.

The Techtextil trade fairs in Frankfurt and IMTA in Barcelona were a perfect opportunity to meet our national and international partners from the fiber industry and to maintain an intensive exchange. In particular, the ITMA, with a duration of 7 days, gave good opportunities to make new contacts and to hold technical discussions. We thank all partners and new contacts for coming and for the exciting time.

The 2019 trade fair ended with the K 2019 in Düsseldorf, which was also the highlight of the 6 events. We started with a certain skepticism as to whether the critical reporting of the plastics industry in the past few months would have a negative impact on the course of the fair. What followed was an unexpectedly successful and exciting event, with a large number of new contacts from all regions of the world. That’s the way we like it!

And that’s how 2020 has started: DOMOTEX Hannover

After the very weak trade fair in 2019, the organizers of DOMOTEX started to rethink and put a greater focus on practical relevance. In addition to the craft forum, there were again international installing competitions, which temporarily increased the number of visitors in the tool and machine hall. We'll see if DOMOTEX gets the "curve". Apart from that, it was always a great pleasure to meet our friends and partners from all over the world at our booth! Thanks for your visit!

Then what's next? International Hardware Show Cologne!

For the first time no longer as part of the FWI joint stand, but from 2020 MOZART will present itself independently at the hardware fair in Cologne. After the fair has steadily gained in importance for us in the past few years, we have decided to get even more involved with our own stand and a 100% MOZART presence.

The trade fair euphoria is dampened by the cancellation of some well-known tool manufacturers, triggered by the uncertainty caused by the Corona Virus. We at MOZART too have had a long discussion and have come to the conclusion that we will take part in the fair and hope that despite all concerns, many visitors will find their way to Cologne. Of course, we will attach great importance to frequent disinfection on our stand in order to best protect our visitors and our stand personnel.

With this in mind: We look forward to meeting you at our stand in Hall 10.1 / Stand C037. Do you need tickets for the hardware fair? Please contact us.

Mozart to become a Youtube star
Our hand model is still not one of the top influencers on Youtube. If you are interested in high-quality cutting solutions made by Mozart, you should nevertheless take a look at the 6 new videos on Youtube. With a duration of only 1-2 minutes each, the advantages of Mozart knives (precision knives, Allegro, S2, Trimming Knife) are explained, the various fields of application are illustrated and instructions for safe handling are given. Thus, the short films are perfect for getting to know product features and handling and are a contemporary marketing tool for customers and distribution partners alike.

New MOZART logo

Did you notice? Since September 2019 we have started to gradually change our MOZART logo. After more than 40 years "on duty" it was time to carry out a gentle but fundamental renovation. It was important to us to ensure recognition despite a new font and a new outline.

Our claims "Technik der Schärfe” (Technology of Sharpness) or "Finest in Blades", which we had now implemented in 4 languages, was also standardized and is now "Finest in Cutting" for all of our geographical markets. With this change we now not only enclose our blades, but also the MOZART handle range, which is becoming increasingly important.
